Your Cure for the January Blahs

You know you want to go: Cape of Good Hope, South Africa

Do you know where you’re going to be one month from today? I know where you could be…in Quito, Ecuador, with me! If the January blahs have inspired you to think about your travel plans for 2017, Mockingbird has got you covered. We have several trips on tap so far, with more to come. And if you want something “off menu,” don’t forget that we arrange custom, private tours to anywhere in the world! Here are a few of the places you can explore with Mockingbird this year:

Ecuador: It’s not too late to visit this wonder of biodiversity in February! From energetic Quito to the more sedate and refined Cuenca, our tour hits the highlights of Ecuador’s culture and nature. This is Ecuador as the locals would like you to see it – and as the experts recommend: The cloud forests north of Quito made it onto National Geographic Traveler’s “Best of the World” must-see list for 2017. Naturally, we had it on our itinerary first!

Switzerland: Already been around the block in Europe? Allow me to share a little-visited corner of France and Switzerland – one of my favorite spots in Europe – with you. We’ll wander the canals of Annecy, France; take a heart-stopping trip up to 13,000 feet at Chamonix Mont-Blanc; and explore a genuine castle in jazzy Montreux. There will, of course, be chocolate and cheese in abundance. Fair warning, though: once you’ve seen these Alps, most other mountains will make you say…meh.

Africa: In the most exciting development of the year, I’m working on an itinerary for an African safari! If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to visit Africa for the first time, or if you’ve been itching to return, this will be your tour. We’ll start in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, and then head to Botswana and its remarkable Okavango Delta for some wildlife immersion of epic proportions.

Chile: I loved Chile so much when I visited in 2015 that I decided it was worthy of its very own tour. In cosmopolitan Santiago, we’ll appreciate colorful wall art and delicious pisco sours; we’ll go stargazing in the Atacama Desert and penguin-spotting in Patagonia; we’ll even try to unravel the mysteries of Easter Island. It may be a skinny country, but Chile offers a full breadth of bucket-list-worthy experiences.

Wherever you go, 2017 is going to be a great travel year. So spin the globe and decide where you want to go – and Mockingbird will take you there!
